Isn’t our country based on the people voice but somehow you tie this into some delusional populism platform. Last I knew I voted for the Republican candidate that runs on making America great again not some made up populism agenda boomers keep yapping about.

MAGA people were happy when Trump initially stated he wanted TikTok banned. Now, they are excited because Trump has reversed his position.

If the CCP were to divest the platform would allowed to continue to operate. The CCP refuses to divest so TikTok won't be allowed to operate in the US. Something even Trump was and is still in favor of.
Trump tried to handle this once, the CCP wouldn't reach an agreement.

Now Trump wants a second bite at the apple but his opinion hasn't changed.

Trump flip flopping here may be something as innocent as he knows more about tech now and he feels he can get them to abide by the ban rules and sell it off like they've been asked to do.
Or he's being financially influenced by TT owners.
We'll see in the next 90 days. If they sell it off and no more data goes to China, then great. If not, then people should be concerned and not let Trump off the hook.

Trump says it's a national security concern and congress agrees. Therefore I think that the CCP should be forced to divest otherwise the app should be shut down.

I’m not a member of TT, so I don’t have skin in the game.
But it’s odd that you don’t seem to have any reservations about your own government spying on you.
Start banning social media, it’s a slippery slope.
It wasn’t but a few short years ago that Twitter and Facebook were censoring and banning from those platforms.
You think we have TT “on the ropes”?
They’re already coming out with replacements for it, how many do you plan on banning?
China isn’t like America. They have long term strategic goals, if TT closes today they won’t panic. They already have it factored in.

Was going to add something similar. Crazy how these are allowing themselves to be fooled by the "anti-1A" message the CCP app is pushing and calling themselves "true conservatives". These type of people are to ignorant to see they are a legit danger.
