He was, for most of his career, a Republican.

And when he ran as a progressive (not the 24 election) it was filled with disaffected republicans.

These guys are woefully ignorant of history.

The only Republican to vote for the Revenue Act of 1913 which levied the income tax. Why? He wanted to use it for redistribution of income.

He was against the Great War, denounced war policy, and supported the Bolsheviks in the Russian Revolution.

Huh, sounds like a guy Bernie Sanders would have a beer with.

Guy sitting at the front of the wagon just seems to be internally screaming “FML...how did I end up here?”

He reminds me of those guys sitting onstage with Kasich.

The old "reformed" fan of the Bolshevics who turned "progressive" Just like t FDR's VP Henry Wallace who later "regretted" his admiration of the Soviet Union.

Thank God he was replaced just 6 months before FDR died. For some reason his name is buried in history books...wonder why?

There's very good reason Joe McCarthy was worried about Communist infiltration in the Fed Govt... especially the state dept

Maybe, just maybe, if we ignored him he would go away.

What a gift we could give ourselves.

Don't even down vote the troll, it will take a toll as he seeks attention in any way he can get it.

Dude he's just pointing and raising his hand in the air...it's 1897. Looks like he's preaching.

And any actual Hitler salute is not a Hitler salute

Hitler was a great admirer of LaFollette. He not only borrowed his salute and desire to hear himself preach, he also envied his desire for tyranny.
There would have been no Hitler without LaFollette.

He was. He was directly at the center of bigoted authoritarianism.
Any plaques, writings, statues, etc, of him should be torn down.
