DC is now nothing but a group of bought-out, corrupt, immoral swines who don’t represent the average American voter in the slightest. Both the GOP and the Democrats are equally as horrible when it comes to this.
Laws need to change to neuter the power of special interest groups and foreign lobbyists. Plain and simple. They control our political climate and who gets elected.

It's probably been that way for decades. It's just more obvious in the information age.

No. I think the debt is the result of unaccountable politicians and federal bureaucrats who have no fear of having to answer for their massive wasteful spending, fraud and outright theft from US taxpayers. I do think mass immigration both illegal and legal has contributed substantially to the federal debt over the past 25 years.

It’s even more obvious when you look into the massive billion dollar investments made by Gulf Arabs into Kushner’s PE firm to sway Trump’s policymaking on the Middle East. Even that’s too obvious for the MAGA cult to deny.
