I'm just pointing out hypocrisy in a thread about hypocrisy.

That's a horrible analogy and the two situations are completely different.

"frick the NFL. These players should all be fired."
That is stupid.
People are saying that the Owners should fire anyone who doesn't stand, or they will not watch their games.
The analogy would be that if the baker doesn't make the homo cakes, people could refuse to do business with them.

No it isn't.

Calling for someone to be fired isn't in the same realm as the courts being involved and forcing someone.
Good thing I didn't say that it was, then.

No - no you are not.
Your own hypocrisy is being revealed by the flawed 'analogy' you presented.

It's completely accurate. I'll save you some time. I don't care if you agree.

I doubt that a single one of the players or their supporters could even vaguely explain what 1st amendment protection of speech actually means.
Sadly you are most likely correct...it is all emotion based knee jerk crap so for them to grasp basic civics and articulate an intelligent sounding explanation on how this has anything to do with freedom of speech vs what Trump said....good luck with trying to find one of these player protesters who can do that.

It does have the false premise of, "have to chose to take a job"
Neither the player or the baker are forced to take any job.
Neither the player or the baker are forced to take any job.

The difference is as to who is doing the enforcing of the societal contract. One is the govt, the other is the owners of the business.

I made a mistake typing on my phone. Mea culpa.
You completely missed on your original response.
I'm going to go with you're an idiot and I have fat fingers.

yes,
if the player refused to to his job, he loses money under a contract that he voluntarily agreed to
the baker doesn't voluntarily contract but rather seeks to avoid entering into a contract

It's not a free speech issue and I don't know why people keep saying this. The first amendment states that government shall not abridge people's rights to certain speech. There is no government entity stopping these players from doing anything. In fact, even thieir employer, the NFL isn't stopping them. This is not a free speech issue so stop saying it is!
Exactly...this has ZERO to do with freedom of speech! Zilch! At no point have any of these faux cause protesters been under threat of criminal repercussions for their childish displays. Furthermore, the NFL isn't even following their own rules about player conduct when it comes to the anthem and their own rule book...of course if you are a player and want to show support for the Dallas PD or if you are a Tom Brady type and want to deflate a ball by a couple of PSI which proved no competitive advantage anyway, well here comes the hammer of your backside. Disrespect the anthem/flag and all they stand for however, go for it!!!
