There is no rule about the Anthem.
Unless someone can produce said "secret playbook" with this rule, then it's fake news

"frick the NFL. These players should all be fired."
One got fined, one got sympathy.
But you knew that.

There is no rule about the Anthem.
"Here's what the game operations manual says regarding the national anthem, according to an NFL spokesperson:
The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem.
During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses"

Calling for someone to be fired isn't in the same realm as the courts being involved and forcing someone.
Good thing I didn't say that it was, then.

It's an Apple's to oranges example.
No it isn't.
So it’s an apples to apples example, except it isn’t and you don’t claim it to be.

Nobody's laughing at that except you. Makes you look petty because you are getting your arse handed to you in this thread.

I love how you are being attacked for the comparison when the OP is the one who brought it up.

But I bet you do think the Christian baker should have to bake a cake for a homosexuals wedding.

I'm afraid you are missing one very critical component of this...these players are employed by someone. While they do have the right to protest, they do not have the right to protest at the expense of their employer on the employer's time. The employer also has the right to fire them because he has the right to run his business as he sees fit.
The baker is his own employer. He also has the right to run the business as he sees fit. Employees do not run businesses, employers do. Employees do what they are told or they can find another place of employment.
The free market will determine who they prefer to do business with.
I would submit that the first NFL owner that fired the first employee for doing this would have instantly become the most popular franchise in the NFL. After 30 years of disliking the Cowboys, I was prepared to root for them if Jerry Jones had enough guts to follow through firmly with what he said a year ago...he wasn't man enough to, so I won't.
See how the free market works?

You've posted a stupid analogy and claimed it "nailed the hypocrisy." I pointed it out. Sorry bout it.
There are multiple levels here. Think about it.

The hypocrisy is that the MSM is slobbering all over the NFL and on their side on this one. But the Christian baker was a bigot for sticking by his beliefs.
So, the cartoon is pointing a light on that hypocrisy.

No it's not.
You see, whether or not you or I agree with it, one is illegal and the other isn't.
Now, bring the players to court and see if they agree not standing is illegal.

He has missed multiple times in this thread. It's his M.O. to now claim there is some deeper meaning and point to his original miss in the thread.
He does it all the time. Like the sun rising in the east and setting in the west

I know, most of the time I just watch the carnage unfold. I've seen this played out before.
