WaPo counted in 2015, 990 people killed by cop in a nation of 300 million. An epidemic, to be sure.

What else do we have epidemics of?

Male breast cancer: 2470 cases diagnosed (640 dead)

I need your help to find others, so we can alert the public!

This is weird.

Breast cancer is a disease, cops killing innocent people is a choice.

Eh, I generally give cops the benefit of the doubt, but I'm not a blind supporter either.

Dumb post. This nation was founded on the concept it's better to let a guilty man free than jail an innocent one.

1 bad shoot is too much

Me too.... The one on Arizona is the latest in a string of these that makes me question if we should really take a look at the training that these officers receive.

And bad shoots are a % of that.

What is your actual point?

Cops don't "kill" people. If you're a suspect and that's what it takes to apprehend you then that is due process. We are a nation of laws

Schistosomiasis... if you regularly swim in lakes.

Crushed pelvis... if you have sex with Rosie O'Donnell with her on top.

Tourism .. if your favorite vacation is Monrovia, Liberia.

People who carry will start treating cops they way they treat civilians soon. Filming encounters, warning they are armed and being as skittish and defensive.

Cop lives are no better than anyone else's and we also have a right to protect ourselves from them.

That it's an incredibly rare occurrence.

I'm not saying it's ok. I'm saying that the amount of bluster spent on it is completely out of proportion to the actual problem.

And I'm saying your point is stupid. A single citizen murdered by their own government is heinous. It's certainly not something I worry about walking down the street and the people who are intellectually honest don't frame it that way. It's a matter of American principle.

How many of those people were innocent? I missed that stat.
