That people are tired of the double standard race card bullshite and that those actions have consequences and that the left is to blame. You see it's not okay for blacks to be racist and whites can't. Either it's okay for all racist movements to march or none at all. If everyone is a racist than no one is a racist.

Born in Richmond, raised in Midlothian, spent many summers in my early youth in Shenandoah national park. Which included stays in Charlottesville en route.

A an ultrapartisan city council and mayor decide to take radical action to offensively "fix" something that was not "broken". It drew a predictably vigorous response. Equally predictably, amongst the respondents are attention whoring DavidDuke-types. So immediately the entire effort is tagged with any descriptive used for the most extreme protest participants.
Despicable leftists tossing those defamatories misrepresent their own vicious attitudes by saying “As long as that expression is peaceful, that is their right. But it is also the right of every American to deny those ideas more attention than they deserve." All the while intensely focusing attention on the only those subgroups that genuinely do not deserve it.
Meanwhile the imbecilic mayor responsible for it all has the unmitigated audacity to say, “Charlottesville has kind of been put on the map recently. We want to change the narrative by telling the true story of race through public spaces. That has made us a target for groups that hate that change and want to stay in the past, but we will not be intimidated.”
