No one ever says it but the greatest generation allowed FDR to create Social Security and the Federal Reserve was created in 1913. Idk what generation that was. Our destruction was planned over a century ago. Death by a thousand papercuts.

Its almost like youre quoting Marx.

The fatal attraction to class/generational warfare and constant victimhood

My dad was of the greatest generation and he would have been 16 when FDR did SS. LBJ ruined it for everyone in 66 so a boomer would be 20 at best. Not sure how you put that on boomers but more likely the "greatest generation". But those events and the unelected Larry Fink and his sub prime mortgage invention put us all in the situation we are in today. I would say it's more ideology than age that has screwed the pooch so badly.

I'm definitely off on the generations but my point is it isn't one generations fault. It's everyone's fault.

Not so much. SS was a mid-thirties act. Over half of the Greatest Gen were of voting age at that point. Given reduced mid-1930's life-expectancy, the GG cohort probably represented 1/3rd of the adult population.

As previously stated, boomers lack self awareness.

Millennials are the outlier, of course. Really silly ideals.

I don’t know how or why the survey you posted leads you to this conclusion. The results could be explained pretty logically

Also. Every program that was introduced as one thing but our politicians knew the end result. Government growth.

Thats your answer.

Nothing is "logical" given this foundation ... "“They’re Repulsive” - Baby Boomers Betrayed Gen Z."

Nothing is logical if logic of the OP is presumed.

Stated by someone ascribing identical traits to millions of people across all demographics and of a "generation" sharply divided amongst itself behaviorally.

In truth, there may not be a better example of poor awareness than that.

Both of those steps would require an admission that SS is just another form of welfare.

It was created to ensure we didn’t have a bunch of destitute senior citizens who didn’t have the ability to work to sustain themselves.

Welfare is a pretty good description of the intent.

ETA: it’s not out of line to force the conversation in the direction of: “elderly folks who don’t need SS can either voluntarily (by voting) give it up, or they can force their kids to continue to pay into a system that will be insolvent by the time they are the beneficiaries.”

I should add that the Boomers aren't the ones who ingrained into Dylan that he was naturally bad just because he was a boy. And that the best way he could go about behaving correctly was if he behaved more like a girl

They 1000% did this - they just got their millennial kids to do the dirty work.

100% FALSE.

SS was created to force the public to lend FDR's Federal Government money to fund the New Deal. Marketing the money grab as Social Security was political genius. It is incredible how gullible the public can be, as proven by your post.

In either case, should younger generations continue to pay into it for the benefit of those who don’t need it?

No you didn't. You claimed older people are voting for capitalism and younger people are voting for socialism. Yet the voting trends don't bare this out

Baby boomers are the most selfish generation in human history. It’s sad that they were so concerned with their own creature comforts that they doomed future generations to slavery and debt.

My kids are Gen Z and killing it. Their biggest challenge will be hanging onto what they’ve earned when the worthless, socialist millennials are in power.

I made a generic statement about why people are voting for socialism. I didn’t hint at ages or generations.

Maybe the person I responded to did but I did not. Take your fight elsewhere.

sorry, but you and your family sound like a generational drain on society. smh
