You guys supporting these tariffs are incredibly naive in thinking anything positive will come from it. There's so much more risk on the negative side, it's not even funny. Let's name all of the previous times these tariffs were successful. Lets hear them.

You say this like we dont already have tariffs and China doesnt already have them.

Its just a tax.

I dont know, maybe you can elaborate how it will "kill" the oil industry.

The current problem with Texas oil is not enough baws to complete/frac. But hey, maybe you got it all figured out.

Because the Chinese will stop purchasing such items as a backlash. Do you know what elasticity is in economics? The lessor the demand, the higher the prices go up.

If China stops ordering oil from us and other items, guess what? It will effect everything.

The current problem is actually that commodity prices aren’t $100/bbl. Baws come out of the rafters once the market gets high enough.

Tariffs are a bad idea. UNLESS, he uses this for quickly negotiating some more favorable things.

I think he idea,is to force foreign countries that send products to the U.S. to invest in manufacturing those products here.
The U.S. is still the greatest market for more expensive items,so the producer has to find a way to stay viable in the market.
For lower price items, hopefully we can see a resurgence of Mom and Pop manufacturing shops.
I'm talking about items like Mailboxes,BBQ grills,etc..

They might, but many cant take the swings. It still creates a people problem through and through. Producers cant drill fast enough.

Oil, agriculture, service industry, just to name a few. I hope you're not a farmer, either.

You realize the US is a net importer of oil and only export natural gas?

Also 90% of the oil companies do not allow Chinese steel in their components.

Just makes it worse for you Hoss.

China steals trade secrets by pressuring companies to open shops in China with Chinese workers and observers overseeing/spying on all levels of operations. Companies are forced to share technology with Chinese companies to gain access to China’s markets. As an intellectual property attorney, I'd think you'd know that.

China allows and even encourages trademark/copyright infringement. A Prada purse or Rolex watch are mimicked and sold at a 5-10-fold lower price. As an intellectual property attorney, I'd think you'd know that.

China copies software, music, and movies and sells bootlegs. As an intellectual property attorney, I'd think you'd know that.

So no, the facts of your qualifications are not evident.
