Because you’re focusing wayyy too much on the O&G aspect. Yeah, I chose that as my title. Could I have been mistaken? Sure. But my narrative and point of this whole thread is that these tariffs are terrible ideas and we will wind up having to spend more money on things across the board.

Regardless of the politics and who’s on who’s side, you have no idea what you’re talking about in regards to O&G

Except that as of page 7 you were still trying to make this point:

Yeah but the higher the price per barrel, the less you’ll be selling. Kind of a wash in simple terms, is it not?

It’s OK, if you play enough poker chances are you’ll go all-in and lose at some point.

Meh. You guys were pointing that part out and ignoring the tariff part. Like I said, I should have chosen a different thing it’ll effect, like most consumer products. But, choose what you want to read and things you want to ignore. I guess keep your head in the sand while you’re at it while the president fricks our country up.

I've not ignored the the tariff aspect, it is you who have ignored it.... Any steel tariff on the oil industry (at least from the perspective from a major O&G international company) is next to nothing... You started the discussion but I've yet to have seen you back up your comments with a single fact...

You are missing the bigger long term ramifications of not getting these uneven trade arrangements under control

We HAVE to stop the regression towards a solely service driven economy, if we don’t our country is doomed, we will soon have nothing but the Uber wealthy and the impoverished with nothing in between

We absolutely MUST manufacture, this is the ONLY way a middle class will ever exist

Automation is the future. Labor intensive manufacturing is a sure way to kill industry.

I didn’t say anything about how we manufacture, just that we MUST manufacturer

Of course we have to manufacture in a competitive way, and unions that prevent automation and efficiency are an obstacle to that

He promised to make China make its money worth more.
He took that promise back already.

Worse than Obama. Trump caved immediately.
