You made it look like 90+% of these arrests were for these offenses, but you cut off the first part of the sentence:

I did not. I copied and pasted the whole thing directly from the page with no edits. That's just how it copied over, not seeing it that way on the original document I didn't bother proof-reading it. Live and learn, I guess.

OF COURSE most FEDERAL arrests are along the border! That's where the FEDS patrol. They aren't working the streets in Kansas.

If this were true we should see similar results along our northern border.

Did you miss the part you quoted where it says that, by far, the most common reason for the arrests was immigration offenses, NOT violent crime.

Did you miss the part where I made no claim about "violent" crime? The fact that they are here illegally is a crime.

quote:

So what it really means is that of the people arrested for those offenses, 90+% were convicted. From the first part you quoted, each of these serious offenses comprised less than 16% of the total arrests.

I know, I know, even one crime committed by an illegal is too many, but frick man don't twist the facts.

Everything you've quoted are direct quotes I've pulled from the statistics, not my own words. In other words, you're blaming me for someone else's writing.

Wow.

I don't get the argument either way against a wall. Most are arrested around the border and 45% of them for just immigration offenses. Well no shite how long could they have been in the country if they were arrested right by the border?

Are Dems implying because they don't immediately start breaking additional laws as soon as they cross the border that means they never will? Anyone with an IQ above 70 would know to keep a low profile.

In both scenarios, the people in favor of allowing the illegals in lose the argument

If we could reduce the burden on the prison and criminal court system I would say that’s a win.

Built it.

Dems like to say blue collar/ labor intensive jobs are on the way out while also stating we need to import millions of uneducated people

It doesn’t add up

Which is a surefire way to lose a country. People that don't make enough of their own shite will eventually become beholden to those that do.

These are the kind of objective facts that define a case. We need more of this and less opinion crap. Here, we see a clear epidemic problem

Not much different than saying "90% of all immigration related federal arrests happen along the southern border" -- might be true but it's a disingenuous argument.

Nearly 8 in 10 (77% or 115,881) federal arrests in 2016 were for immigration, drug, or supervision violations. Forty-five percent of federal arrests in FY 2016 involved an immigration offense as the most serious arrest offense"

I edited my post after realizing it did the same to me.

TL;DR - We have a problem with illegal immigration at our Southern border and the numbers prove this, despite any Leftist narrative to the contrary.

If you think THIS is a crisis, you should've seen it in 2006.

federal arrests

Considering the limited federal charges a person can be held on, I'm not really surprised by this. It certainly is pretty thin evidence for a "crisis".

Why not compare the TOTAL 2018 arrests for immigration charges to 2000, 2005, 2010, and 2015, and not percentages...?
