Are you trying to claim that news of the Caravan was some conservative creation?
Not exactly, but the reporting of it was on steroids leading up to the election. It’s experiencing quite a refractory period right now.

Anything you hear from main stream conservative media about immigration when an election is near is exaggerated because it scares the shite out of older conservatives, and fear motivates people to vote.

Ferfricksake, every old person I know has this insane idea that being born in the US doesn’t make you a citizen all of a sudden

Care to explain how the caravan wouldn't be considered illegal immigrants though?
Where are they right now?

I tend to agree. Most older people I know are fairly laid back and apolitical, except the 50+ SJW crowd which dominate politics locally.

You are correct, fear is one of our basic instincts that preserve our species. Doesn't matter if it is politically correct or not, it is inside each one of us to sense the danger around us, rational or not.

You progressives are trying to make this sixth sense something to be ashamed of, spited, so you can numb us to the immorality your type wants to impose on us.

I ain't buying.

The initial reporting was a HUGE CNN/MSNBC thing and only tapered when they realized it was politically problematic.

To even try to lay that shite on conservatives is a remarkable act of projection.

Are you going to really pretend this is some "new" argument also? Like, it wasn't being put forth by Democrats not even that long ago? Democrats STILL in office?

Gotta love you "both sides" posters who let your true colors show through inside of 2 pages.

GOP needs older people, who lean right, to keep voting in droves.
Dems need younger people, who lean left, to vote more.

GOP needs people who value personal freedom, private wealth ownership, and individual responsibility to vote.

Dems need people who support government regulations on freedom, redistribution of wealth, and communal responsibility.

For the most part older people are hardened, experienced, realists who support the former and young people are naive and often ignorant dreamers who support the latter.

There is alot of truth to the old adage:

If you don't vote Democrat when you're young you dont have a heart. If you don't vote republican when you're old you don't have a brain.

Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton both made this exact statement within the last decade.

When exactly do us older Conservatives scream OP?
Bathrooms. Older conservatives screamed at the sky so loud that the NCAA relocated some of their events because of it.

Kaepernick.

Gay marriage. I realize that tens of millions of people have died because of it, but older conservatives were skyscreamers about this and often still are.

The caravan. Where they at?

Statues.

Statues.

Statues.

Letterman’s joke about a Palin daughter.

Statues.

Sure it is. I’ve loved the birthright threads on this board recently. Own it.

I'm supposed to own the idea that opposing birthright citizenship is a new idea?

Not to mention, why did you quote my part about the caravan and then talk about birthright citizenship? Are you just going to fast to actually think?

Well, good for you.

I am old and out of shape, will get my arse kicked but damn it, I will still meet any progressive SJW at Sonic to stand up for what I believe in.

Not the first time I had a bloody nose or teeth stuck in my knuckles.

Edit to add. Boozy, Sonic, Austin area? Hell I will travel.

So basically just valid concerns that don't align with your own exact concerns. Got it.

ShortyRob in particular was very grounded in his explanation, you just don't want to hear (see) it.

You are being down voted because it’s just mediocre and cartoonish connect- the- dots relativism unsupported by the facts. There is no “ sky screaming “ on the Right. There is in fact, the opposite. These are men who believe in Constitutional principles who want to discuss things in the arena of ideas. Met by Leftists who loathe free speech and the Rule Of Law. One side is virtuous and can defend its arguments and the other is shrill, hysterical and violent.

I think people who make really simplistic arguments that are narrative-driven rather than fact- based are giant assholes, fwiw.
