These "twitter drive-by" threads as you said it are typically the worst and are accelerating the cultural decline of this board, which is destroying what little intellectual value is left.
When certain people have started a meme to respond to a discussion with a response and rely on posting an imbedded tweet instead, you know shite is getting real bad.
There are major issues with normal responses with honesty, not just pushing NPC talking points, directly addressing the point/not creating irrelevant digressions, etc. The behavior you reference in OP basically is a reinforcement of all of that in one
