The town hall meeting with Cassidy. It was a manufactured anti-Trump rally

Leaked audio from an anti-Trump protest group meeting reveals activists with anti-Trump group Indivisible plotting how to best manufacture a hostile environment at a town hall with Republican Sen. Bill Cassidy in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana on Friday.
quote:
“Game plan number one is to fill as many seats as we can, right? If it’s all of us in there and the poor people of Breaux Bridge are sitting behind us, well then tough luck for them,” said one organizer, identified by KPEL as James Proctor. His “poor people” comment drew laughs from the other activists.
quote:
“The Indivisible Guide does say that when you start to lose the meeting, that’s when you boo and hiss,” one unidentified activist can be heard saying. “Right, I was going to say that,” another activist replied. Local news outlet The Advertiser reported that members of the crowd “frequently interrupted, expressing disagreement with some of Cassidy’s positions and shouting out their own questions.”

What's the correct strategic response to this effort? Clearly it will continue

There's a quick way to squash this stuff.
Have two chairs up front. Invite the questioner up to sit face to face with you and discuss the question on camera for the world to see.
Show the media that these folks don't know anything but what's on a script.
To avoid looking like complete loons, they will have to send better and better "protestors" and guess what eventually happens. The two sides actually discuss things.

Bring them forward and put them on camera while forcing them to make their point individually and debate that point.
Can't let them pack up like wolves. They feel safe in numbers. Separate the weak ones and strike by forcing them to actually talk. Would be glorious.

That's sort of changing the town-hall format at a fundamental level though
And "can't let them pack up like wolves", because "they feel safe in numbers"? Would like someone screening the attendees, and controlling the discussion? That's what it sounds like

You aren't going to beat them by letting them shout you down. You have to bring them up to the front and make them famous for either looking like a fool or for having great points of view.

Its disingenuous.
I think they should at least check ID's to see if they are from Louisiana.

Every Prog on this board will cheer this effort, while telling those who attend the meeting to legitimately discuss issues they are concerned about with Cassidy to "melt".
You are dealing with children who have the support of a corrupt media. This is what my former party has become and it is a damn shame.

Correct. And notice the contempt they have for their fellow citizens.

So they need to limit the meetings to residents of the state/city to exclude these outside antagonists. Hope to hell this all comes back to bite them at election time. How can any non snowflake associate themselves with the current Dem party and its ways. Perez, Pelosi, Schumer all the snowflakes and antagonists in that party. How is not debating issues and then getting your side elected and in power not the right way to go about it?

It's easy, just have free eventbrite tickets to get into the event. Make sure you put a disclaimer on the the signup form that they have to put the address where they're registered to vote and only registered voters in that constituency will be allowed in. Then, run the list of registered voters against the signups and voila!
Out of state plants will be automatically screened out.

The activists can be heard in the audio referencing a partner group’s protest of Sen. Cassidy in Metairie, Louisiana, as a possible source of inspiration. Protesters at that event booed the name “Jesus” during the opening prayer.
I mean.....why "boo" Jesus?

While this is a great idea, you can't suppress the right of Progressives who want to act like idiots.
I say let them do it.

I was wondering to myself why the Dems weren't taking advantage of a staged town hall throughout the country just last week.

Shows how socially inept people have become.

You need to show up with your own pack....that will shut this down...

Man, the left has the market cornered on PR and perception. It's incredible how ahead of the game they are. I suppose that's a bi product of liberalism being a religion for most of these people and their passion (causing blindness) driving them. It also helps that they fund these organizations.
How do conservatives match this? Is it even possible? I would imagine it would take decades to evolve, much like the left has been doing.

This is their group, at least the Metairie one (300 members) Metairie Indivisible
Probably the only 300 libtards in Metairie.
