Nah, I disagree with this. Sorry if I wasn't clear in quoting both statements.
Outside of perhaps getting onboard with the utilization of tariffs in certain aspects of international trade (which I've already quibbled with with the idea that it is some big manifestation of "populist collectivism" - but for the sake of this discussion, let's concede it is to whatever degree you wish), I'm not sure what else we are supposedly pointing to to support the proposition that the Republican base has now abandoned conservatism altogether and embraced populism.
It strikes me as a wholly ridiculous proposition.

One of the core tenets of Keynesian economics is unrestricted borrowing to finance spending
True, but Keynes theory was to use debt to stimulate, and not use debt when we dont need to stimulate.

Once you promote the idea that the government can print money out of thin sir with no lasting ill effects, MMT is ultimately the end destinatio
Classical economics (including Keynesians) believed that the real world full employment was 5-5.5%. Spending pushing money into the economy with lower, just creates inflation.
MMT dont care. It pushes debt into the economy regardless, until inflation becsomes unbearable.
One spends to stimulate, the other spends to push growth regardless of circumstances.

What are your takes on how we come together?
We will never convince NEO cons of joining in with those that want to take their power away like Trump. They are more closely aligned with the modern Democrat party.

We will come together when the economy goes into recession.
Its not far off. There are few tools left in the arsenal.

The stock correction is long overdue. Just a matter of when.

Yet it was decades of Keynesian policies that normalized the print and spend policies of the Federal Reserve. MMT is simply the logical end point of such debt monetization.

Youre right, but the amount of debt and when to use it are very different.
Under MMT, debt is not a consideration.

Funny how those who lose elections always say how divided the winner is. Not funny though because it only further indicates how disconnected you are. You'll never see it coming because you haven't seen what's come to this point.

Where do yall go when Trump is out of the picture?
America First/MAGA is bigger than Trump. So, whomever the best candidate and candidates are that want to carry that torch. Absolutely will never vote for another GOP establishment RINO again. At least not knowingly...

So how is Trump any different than Ronald Reagan in that respect? Reagan oversaw a massive increase in government spending and tripled the Federal Debt, from $900 billion to $2.6 trillion. After WWII, it had taken 3 decades of government spending for the debt to be tripled, yet Reagan did it in a mere eight years.

There are a large number of elected Republicans in Washington DC that hate their own voters.
Ask them.
