The fact that this event basically passed in and out of the news cycle in about 24 hours is utterly astounding, and should be to anyone with any grasp whatsoever of genuine historical perspective.

how much longer is it supposed to go on? 2 days? a week? its not as if it is forgotten incident. there just isn't anything else to say: Shooter is dead. Victims are all on the mend, and no fatalities. Politicians made public statements and the story was reported. What more is there? it'll get rehashed again when Scalise gets released from the hospital and as the follow up into the shooters life & contacts continues.
