The Repubs have 53 senators, but 3 won't vote for Trump's nominee until after the election

Lisa Murkowski, has already said she won't vote for a nominee until after the election. Susan Collins is in a dogfight in Maine and voting for Trump's nominee might sink her chances. And of course Mitt Romney will salivate at the chance to screw Trump.

There's no chance any of the Dems will jump ship. Can MAGA get his choice confirmed with 50 votes?

You’re assuming the Republicans, if there are any, that won’t vote yes will vote no.

As Elleshoe and I agreed in the other thread, risking a second term of our great President is not worth it.

Romney may vote no. The other two can just abstain from voting

Mike Pence, as President of the Senate, can break a tie and be the 51st vote.

That’s not necessarily true at all.
He could very likely support the nominee for ideological reasons.
Plus, he likely intends to stick around after Trump is term limited.
So being a dissenter “just because” won’t help him.

What?

They can abstain. We can have six Republicans abstain and still confirm. Do you think these republicans saying they won’t vote till after the election will vote a conservative justice down? They’ll just abstain.

Not voting doesnt add a digit to the other side but is a way to cop out of the vote

So I do not doubt a couple will abstain

Manchin will probably abstain

And they will have all the calculus down for the tiebreak vote

Joseph Smith should not allow Romney his own Planet if he sabotages the chance to outlaw abortion in America.

Right. I finally figured out what you meant. I think only Romney might vote no. I think Murkowski and Collins would abstain

Mitt Romney.

Every time I hear that name it pisses me off.

He was led willingly to the slaughter in 2012 and has been serving his Democrat task masters ever since.

Shitty excuse for a man and he has no pride. He’ll vote with the Dems on this around his ball gag.

It hurts worse because if he just never existed that seat would be redder than a Carolina Reaper

Utah needs a couple smacks for that one. Then again thats probably going to be one of the last handful of free states left if they cant ram this one through.

Murkowski won't vote "no". She just won't vote.

Collins will definitely approve because she is in a dog fight. If she votes "no" or even abstains, she will lose her race.

Romney will vote "no" because he is a RINO piece of shite that is still jealous Trump won.

A new justice will be confirmed. Don't get caught up in the emotion of it all.

Wait
..wut?

A stacked conservative court for the next 20 years is pretty enticing vs 4 years of a presidency with no house to go along with it.

The crazy thing is that people on this board dedicated their time to lose a Senate race in Florida to Nelson that would have changed the course of history forever.

What a bunch of fricking pieces of shite those people were.

I believe Trump should wait until after the election. Nothing motivates his base to vote like a Supreme Court Nominee. And plus, Trump is gonna win in a landslide.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall when he tries to explain this shite to Brigham Young.
