My theories;
1). The thugs just wanted air time. 15 minutes of fame and all that nonsense.
2). CNN needs the ratings, so they probably have encouraged this. They wanted to be the victim.

They attacked it because they recognized it as being known, there were no politics involved in that crap. Just like they didn't attack the CFB HOF because they disagree with college football
