The idea that we have to shut down all retail businesses in all small towns because NO is fricked is moronic at its core.

My small town is getting killed by this. With a total of 3 cases in the county. And zero deaths.

Not only restaurants and other smaller walk in shops, but places like car dealerships as well.

No one is buying cars and the service dept is dead as well.

It makes ZERO sense.

I truly hope many politicians are shitcanned over this.

My biz is right on the main drag and I just watched traffic for a few minutes. Went 56 seconds between cars going by at one point.

Traffic at this time of day is usually pretty constant. This is more like 10PM.

I never understood this either. I listened to an interview yesterday with the Surgeon General. Dr. Adams stated that not every area in the US is at the same point of the curve. Yet we treat the entire country as if we are. The entire point of the flattening the curve is not to overwhelm the Heath Care System. If an area or even a state is not endanger of doing this without shutting everything down, why should that area or state have to do it?

There remains a possibility with a probability greater than zero that some areas will not really see any effect from the virus itself. It makes zero sense to shut down the country.

I blame peer pressure.

You can thank hysteric local politicians for that. The federal government needs to roll out guidelines ASAP. If there were more clear thresholds and guidance being provided probably wouldn't see quite as much panic and overreaction from small time politicians
