I will not be left a half hour drive from town and law enforcement without a substantial amount of firepower to protect myself. To be fair the tank is never going to come rolling through the neighborhood either.
The fed gov has declared war on us (with our idiotic permission) however, mainly via the WoD and War on Terror. Anytime "War" is declared on something it generally isn’t good for us. Through the WoD we get mass incarceration (helpful if you benefit from prison beds being filled), CAF, and other fun things. War on Terror brings us mass surveillance on the population which is always good too. No one is going to bring up arms against the gov though, hell the muh guns crowd is generally the ones pushing the war on drugs and terror.
