Trump would never have pulled the military before securing the safe orderly withdrawl of civilians and allies. Nor would the Taliban have come out to play until Trump recovered all personnel and assets he desired.

That's what I meant by my original post. I can't say for sure that it'd give the Taliban pause, but it certainly gave every other foreign government we interacted with pause...
