Good piece from Aaron Mate about how Zelensky is not in control or at least wasn't at one point.

quote:

In using Ukraine to bleed Russia, the US has showcased its contempt for everything in Ukraine that it claims to defend, namely its democracy and security. By treating Ukraine as a depot for US weapons, the US has joined Ukrainian fascists in sabotaging the 2015 Minsk accords that could have put an end to the civil war triggered by a US-backed coup the year prior. Minsk called for granting Ukraine's Russian-speaking population in the eastern Donbas limited autonomy and respect for their language. This prospect was a non-starter for the far-right nationalists and Nazis empowered by the 2014 US-backed Maidan coup.

"The uncomfortable truth is that a sizeable portion of Kiev’s current government — and the protesters who brought it to power — are, indeed, fascists," two specialists with prominent Western think tanks wrote in Foreign Policy in March 2014, one month after the coup.

The fascists have blocked peace in the Donbas at every turn. When the Ukrainian government voted on a "special law" advancing the Minsk accords in August 2015, the Svoboda party and other far-right groups led violent clashes that killed three Ukrainian soldiers and left dozens wounded. Then-Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, who had signed Minsk at a time when President Obama was resisting heavy bipartisan pressure to arm Ukraine, got the message and refused to uphold Ukraine's end of the bargain.

In April 2019, Zelensky was elected with an overwhelming 73% of the vote on a promise to turn the tide. In his inaugural address the next month, Zelensky declared that he was "not afraid to lose my own popularity, my ratings," and was "prepared to give up my own position – as long as peace arrives."

But Ukraine's powerful far-right and neo-Nazi militias made clear to Zelensky that reaching peace in the Donbas would have a much higher cost.

"No, he would lose his life," Right Sector co-founder Dmytro Anatoliyovych Yarosh, then the commander of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army, responded one week after Zelensky's inaugural speech. "He will hang on some tree on Khreshchatyk - if he betrays Ukraine and those people who died in the Revolution and the War."

Along with the threats to his life, Zelensky experienced direct obstacles to his peace mandate on multiple fronts.

When Zelensky travelled to the Donbas in October 2019 to promote elections for the rebel-held areas, he was confronted by angry members of the neo-Nazi Azov battalion rallying under the slogan of "No to Capitulation." In one exchange caught on video, Zelensky sparred with an Azov member over the president's calls for a military drawdown. "I’m the president of this country. I’m 41 years old. I’m not a loser. I came to you and told you: remove the weapons," Zelensky pleaded.

But Zelensky met continued defiance. The same far-right forces set up an armed checkpoint to delay a Ukrainian military pullback. Thousands of far-right and nationalist protesters, cheered by the liberal intelligentsia and carrying flares as torches, also marched in Kiev.

So now Zelensky is not the bogey msn instead it’s right wing Nazis. Hmmmmmmm
What role does Russia have to play here? Arr they just innocent bystanders, or were they heavily involved in stirring the pot?

I don't think he is some Churchillian hero, but I also don't have contempt for him the way some do on the poliboard. Yes, he is an actor/puppet who got where he was because of backing from Igor Kolomoisky and has profited handsomely. But, he is at the mercy of the State Department and Ukraine right wing lunatics. So, there is basically no hope for any type of peace because those parties wouldn't allow it. Perhaps something could have been done about NATO, but I don't know how you'd resolve the Donbas issue.

I know it's only anecdotal but every time I listen to one of the "rogue" militia people that are interviewed or sometimes just a normal citizen.....im left to think resistance in some parts will never end even if Z or Kiev surrendered.

Innocent bystanders, until they were forced to invade Ukraine to take down the Deep State.

Putin actually said “the Storm is upon us” a few weeks ago, which was an awkward moment for the Q crowd.

I read somewhere that a third of all our Javelin reserves have been sent to Ukraine.

The Neptune is a modernization of the Soviet X-35.

Neptunes were developed by Ukraine in the last few years, so not Russian or Soviet.

Yes but they were not developed from scratch. The Ukrainians inherited a large part of the USSR’s rocket and missile infrastructure when the USSR collapsed. The Neptune missile is based on a Soviet missile that was designed in the RSFSR. Russian propaganda even tried to claim Kyiv was copying their missile a few years ago.

Of course that actually makes it more embarrassing for Russia. If it was a Soviet missile or a copy of a Russian missile, shouldn’t Muskva have been able to detect and defeat it with ease?

????

Hopefully the last two standing are Putin and Soros taking the last bullet in this show.

Plenty of Commies in the western hemisphere that need a last helo ride.

Personally I think Putin has underestimated the SAS Soros funded forward militia. They had the harpoon system up and operationally at break/neck speeds. These systems are now shipped in pods in small containers. The targeting of the Flag also confirms Aerial recon. Just my 2cents.

It wasn’t a harpoon. It was Neptunes. The UK never had land based harpoons to give Ukraine. All of the UK’s harpoons are ship based.

I came across a video from the guy who runs the pro-Russia site, the Saker. He is a funny old man. He says something near the end about how the more pressure Russia applies in the east, the "more hysteria we will be getting here, and the more, pardon my French, bullshite will be spewed around about how Russia is about to collapse and run out of everything."

Seeing how Joe's draining our STRATEGIC oil reserves, I'd believe it.

The Navy Marine Expeditionary Ship Interdiction System can launch naval strike missiles from the back of a modified Joint Light Tactical Vehicle to destroy targets on land or at sea. (U.S. Navy)

Military.com

I am on team harpoon, this system can be rolled off a transport and in the field Quickly.

No sweat, will see how far off from the shore, the Russian Flag was located. Just going with a proven weapon compared to a recently fielded homegrown system.

If the image of a ship on fire as seen from satellite indicates damage,

even the olde (sic) Glomar couldn't salvage that.

it's simply fricking amazing to me how supposed conservatives are in lock step with Obama/Biden 2013's installation of a Nazi regime takeover in Kiev, are in lock step with George Soros and Victoria Nuland on it, and somehow even rip away what Reagan did by bringing down the Soviet Union by conveniently and lazily still insisting that "Russians are communists" - oh and now all the sudden "Moscow is overrun with Nazis"

Kind of funny how that Soviet iron curtain still somehow exists and we can't imagine what horrors might be going on back there, but we somehow are pretty sure they got a bunch of Nazis

Lord have mercy

Have any of you ever heard of Alexander Solzhenitsyn over the past 30 or 40 years? If you have, you'll know that Russians hate communism more than any populace on the planet.
