This will happen because the right will become fractured and too relaxed.

But that's ok.. Because Chavez was a great leader! Right?

He ended poverty...
quote:

Domestically, Mr Chavez's targets included the traditional political class with its strong ties to the US.

To counter their influence in the media, President Chavez promoted state television and pressured the judiciary to restrict the influence of privately-owned means of communication.

He also replaced technocrats in the state oil company (PDVSA) with loyal supporters.

Venezuela became increasingly politicised, with the debate focusing on the role of President Chavez himself.
To maintain political support, Mr Chavez expanded his social programmes using the income derived from high oil prices.

Minimum wages were increased sharply and many Venezuelans were lifted out of poverty.

Other social indicators, notably literacy, also improved and Mr Chavez and his political movement had little difficulty in defeating an opposition that was deeply divided and unable to adjust to the new Venezuelan realities.

BBC Baby

quote:

Any successor to Hugo Chavez, whether from his own party or the opposition, will need to tackle these issues, but they will do so without the undoubted charisma that has sustained Chavez's popularity for many years. When that happens, Venezuela will embark on a new chapter in its 200-year history.

Hind site is 20/20? Not really. They were told this would happen. It happens in EVERY nation that goes down this path.

To quote the left with a twist "IT'S OUR TURN"

What is funny is that in 2013, 100% of conservatives could have told you how this was going to turn out.

But liberals will still act like it was unforeseeable

Not a hard call to make when socialism has a historical failure rate of around 103%

You have lost the fight. It's inevitable.

1- Nothing is happening to reduce those recruits by the KBG to teach youth, k-college, that this is the best system.

2- No alternatives are being taught or presented.

Truth is 3 million more people voted for that system. The issue is where they were located. That won't be the issue in the next election. Bernie would have won or made it very close. To bury your head in the sand to that is a mistake.

Given the standard 2 term then switch party Presidential history, I would put it at a 95/5% chance of happening.

The next person will make Obama look like Reagan.

That's right. We all know. But the youth does not. With each cycle, we move more to the left and at a faster pace.

Yeah, this young generation coming up after Millennials are going to be full blown socialists. The public education system has ruined them from kindergarten on up.

RC is right.

Trump will say a lot of things. But he was put in the White House to assure the bottom line, that nothing will change and the sheople will continue to follow the propaganda that best suits their "team."

ETA: However, I disagree with the OP. This country has trended Fascist for more than 100 years now. I don't see that trend ending anytime soon.

If what the OP posted has any possibility of coming true, then I am definitely going to be looking into getting me one or two of those store bought citizenships from places like St. Kits & Nevis, or maybe Malta. Sigapore would be the best deal, but you have to give up all other citizenships to get theirs. Ain't ready for that just yet.

The first 4 paragraphs of your "quote" sound a lot like Trump's MO.
