About the missile serial numbers, 3 fired missiles all had numbers within 20 numbers of each other on the rocket component that drops away.
Sh91579
Sh91565
Sh91566
The Russians are saying the 19th Separate Missile Brigade under the command of Colonel Yaroshevich Fyodor launched the attack.
The unit was in area of village of Dobropole, Donetsk on the day in question.
But on March 20th the same unit was attacked by Russian forces in the Donbass region.
This is from the Russian side of the attack.
Do not trust any information on the attack.

It appears the number has been photoshopped off.

Some people in this thread are saying it has to be true because in newer images - Aha! - the serial number is photoshopped off.
Doesn't thus the exact opposite also hold true, that in earlier images the serial number might have been photoshopped on?

Eurocat Do not forget the serial numbers can also be painted on in the field.
Miss information is all of the story of the attack, and many have looked at the photographs of the area hit and have many questions on those photographs as well.
This is a story best looked in the future.

I am extremely doubtful you can get that "font" (to draw the exact number in the exact way) in the field right after an attack.
Secondly, so let me get this straight, this missle was launched so it would NOT explode?

Military has stencils, font is Russain, the left side down E is the sh sound. It is a stenciled font print. And not taped down which is why the missing parts of the lower 9 in the last digit.
Not after the attack before, days before that way it is not hurried to paint on.
Just like the Vietnam war, plant workers painted slogans on bombs, my co-worker job in the air force at the time was to paint over them.
US government spent a lot of money planting the bombs again.

I don’t trust Russia or our media. I look at cause and effect, risk and gain.
Russia only gains by terrorizing the Ukrainians. It has no risk because they have already committed other war crimes.
Ukraine gains by making the Russians look bad, but that has already occurred. The Risk is if it is proven they fired this missile they will lose western support.

There are some real good images of the rocket stage on the ground, from Italian TV on the net.

That’s the booster stage

quote:Presumably, they show a SN. Russia has called origin of that missile to question based on the SN.

TTBOMK, Ukraine has not addressed it, nor has the media. Media coverage of the SN quandary is currently nonexistent.
They seem to be taking a "Hunter's Laptop is Russian information" and so "there's nothing to see here" approach.
