For giving an interview with Katie Couric that was 100x more substantive and coherent than whatever that was Kamala did with Bret Baier.

Palin was unpolished. She wasn't one of the elite. She was a regular Joan from a small town that became a popular governor. She blew the roof off with her speecthe RNC. I remember even the lib talking heads were wowed by her speech saying, "who is this woman?" Then they destroyed her.

John McCain was a millstone around Palin's neck. McCain's own consultants... especially the odious Steve Schmidt... were leaking dirt to the press about her, often dirt that was untrue. Schmidt was one of the prime guys in the GOPe that wanted to turn the party to socially liberal positions, and Palin potentially stood in the way of that. That 2008 election was my education on just how awful the GOPe consulting class was. That's when I first learned about Rick Wilson as well. I'
