Imagine someone saying something to a family member or friend, which is taken the wrong way, causing the family member or friend to lash out at that person, and that person doesn't lash out in return and instead tries to smooth over the situation.
Just because someone thinks you view them as an enemy, doesn't mean that they view you as an enemy. It's a possibly true, but not necessarily true.

Maybe you need to start at the beginning. The first reference was mine, a collective "our enemies" referring to Disney and how Ronbois want "our enemies" punished, implying that it can be dangerous to be so heavy-handed. His response was "I’m your enemy now." If that's not a declaration, it takes some serious mind-reading and logic-wrangling to arrive at a different conclusion. While after torturing that logic enough, one might be able to make the case, the fault of getting the wrong impression does not belong to those who took it for any of the most logical interpretations.
