This is obviously a new phase in his child's life. One he is inexperienced with, so he asked his father for assistance
The adult son did not ask his parent to email his university to complain about the books on his syllabus.

He solely brings up the issue to his professor, and it's held against the student.

Also, I'm assuming the father is paying, so he has every right to approach the school.
Legally, he does not.

You lefties don't see a problem with this kind of situation cause it fits your mold and you don't see the consequences. But it's been proven people on the right don't get that leeway from leftie professors.
I don’t see a problem with any adult reading any book because I’m not a lunatic. You want to censor the world so your adult sons and daughters aren’t exposed to beliefs you don’t personally hold while screeching about iNdOcTriNaTiOn.

You are so full of it... the entire syllabus was crap infused. It isn't about censorship, it's about getting what you pay for in a quality education.
I know you have one child who is vv young- you may find your opinion has shifted once you have a kid in high school or early college.

I was added to his FERPA.
Response:
I will say faculty have the leeway to meet with parents as they see fit, and many will not meet with parents, for a variety of reasons, one of which is that they want students to learn to be their own advocates as part of the process by which they develop the self reliance skills in order to be successful post graduation.
Of course, some faculty do meet with parents. I do not yet know Professor xxx perspective on this, but I will reach out and then let you know how he wants to proceed.
Same line this person uses “it must be taught in upper level Marxism”. Again, This is his first class in college. They use this line but their intention is obvious. Not to develop self reliance but to keep themselves shielded from debate.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and just say you're being totally disingenuous.

Two of the craziest people I know are Seattle people. Liberal to the point of retardation

Your adult son is not capable of going to his professor’s office hours or dropping a class and your main concern is him reading books you don’t like but mostly likely have never laid your own eyes on. Seriously, how unhinged does someone have to be to micromanage their adult son’s life this way? You can’t even trust your adult son to read books! It sounds like YOU are doing the indoctrinating. More than a dozen downvotes with zero replies because downvoters can’t argue with the inconvenient truth.
In case anyone needing reminding, the author of this post knowingly and willingly has sex with homeless people. She is a legitimately stupid person.

I remember taking the city bus to downtown Seattle with my brother and sister when I was in middle school and exploring during the summer. Meanwhile y’all don’t trust 18 year olds to read books you haven’t read.
I value freedom. You small government conservative types value censorship and restrictions.

Go find another family to preach your heaven prophet. Lol
As I said before. Your heaven has been debated and rejected by adults with wisdom and experience.

Respectfully, can you see how you are doing this to your son? You’re attempting to shield him from debating his own ideas about books neither of you have read.

Like who? St. Thomas Aquinas?
You think that because I believe adults are capable of forming their own opinions about what they observe that I’m an atheist?

I didn’t know you were also a Seattle retard, but the shoe fits.
A dumb 18 year old, after being educated in Seattle, needs a lot of reprogramming to be a reasonable person.

It’s obviously not a debate when all of the assignments are from one ideology. It’s indoctrination.
You will never guilt me into giving any of my kids over to your cult. Do with your kids what you want.

I wish you luck micromanaging your adult kids lives until they inevitably cut you out of it.
