Only 2% of gun owners participated in Canada's buy back program. Now Canada says they will send police to gun owners homes to collect their firearms.

This is why you resist any law our govt tries to pass for required gun registration, individual sales going thru background checks, etc. If they know who has them they can then go get them.

It won’t be. Just like Australia, the people will fold.

Not on this one. The supposed mandatory turn in for certain weapons has come and gone and something like 2% complied. Hopefully Canada has found their testicles and stands firm. Their minister of safety implied that they are going to go door to door, but the vast majority of Canadian law enforcement won't participate.

It is my understanding that they basically disallowed most gun ownership in 1967. They would only allow weapons that are to be used for hunting, with MANY restrictions and hoops to jump through.

To get a sidearm, you had to start with reciting the Magna Carta, backwards, from memory.

First, don't make the head of the Central Bank of England your fooking premier. 2nd, don't let NATO and the UN force you to take in all of the dog people from the sandbox.

Alberta his the 177k petition threshold for a succession vote on Saturday.

Saskatchewan is having a very very low compliance rate with their registration and voluntary surrender program.

At some point they have to let the prisoners out and deputize them to go collect the guns because the Marxist Soys will not do it. Then things get real.

I wouldn’t describe the position as anti-establishment. Having the freedom to defend yourself and your family is an innate thing, it’s in your bone marrow, and without that you are a serf to anyone willing to ignore the law, and waiting for the government to protect you makes you a serf to government.

Which is why I typed, "perhaps it's in their DNA."

Most western Canadians are descendants of explorers with rugged individualistic beliefs. They were raised that way in rural environments.

They're very different from their eastern counterparts with their propensity for monarchs and their froggy French sensibilities.

Western Canucks are more aligned with we old school Southerners here in the U.S. and I seriously doubt that they're going to give up their guns freely. As a matter of fact, I'm hearing that they're openly whispering to one another up there ... "come and take them."

Mol?n labé ... and they truly believe that Trump will have their backs.

Canada's 'Buyback' Deadline Is Here, and Most Banned Guns Haven't Been Handed Over

quote:

Today is supposedly the last day that Canadian gun owners can hand in firearms banned by the Liberal government and still receive compensation for their guns. With just 51,000 firearms turned in as of last week, the federal government has collected just a little more than one-third of the total number of firearms it anticipated receiving, and most provinces have refused to aid in the Liberals' gun ban scheme.

The article's author expects that the amnesty deadline will be extended

They will kill the guys who don't give them up. They will go to their houses one by one. Those who don't give them up or try to fight back, well, there was a reasonable threat for the police shoot.

And those policemen may return to their homes to find their families laying in the front yard hacked to death with an axe, and their house burned to the ground.

Do not think that wont happen. You can only push people so far before they start doing unimaginable things.

That is how you get a civil war. Canada has firearms but nowhere near like here in the US. If confiscation was attempted here the violence shown would be worse than anything in the history of mankind.

Alberta will be the line. Those folks are different than your average Canadian.

Will be interesting to see how it falls out.
