They will tell you only what they think you should hear, even if it's nowhere near the truth (like crime statistics).

It will be deeply anti-white.

It will be deeply anti-natalist, pro-abortion, pro-LGBTQ, anti-family, and anti-achievement.

Some of very worst words you can hear, "I'm from the government and I'm hear to help".

Don’t like this at all, but let’s not pretend that cable/internet companies operate in a free market.

So we shouldnt complain when it becomes more restricted by the government?

The internet is "owned" by private companies.

Private companies pay for 90%+ of all fiber and satellite communications.

This is where blockchain tech comes in as a populist alternative to centralized systems.

Why be beholden to ICANN and DNS using the WWW when we can use decentralized P2P hosting?

Qortal and Bastyon are currently pioneering this field.

Only uniformed people who don't know how computer networking actually works think the above can circumvent government control.

Somebody sue. Pretty sure they don't have the statutory authority.

ISPs are the issue. I am confident that with the increase in authoritarianism, there will be an increase in libertarian innovation. We can solve the problem one way or another. The gov wouldn't be fighting it so hard if it wasn't a threat

One of the things I heard on the radio yesterday was this gives them the power to decide what can and can not be sold via the internet.

My guess is they will go after guns, ammo and accessories.

Will having to buy ammo in person stop me from getting it? No

But it makes it more inconvenient.

The biggest impact will come from the censorship power it gives the government. Those FBI crime statistics are going to be real hard to find.

The next time the Government tells a vaccine is 96% effective we will just have to take their word for it.

Well that should be overturned fairly quickly.

Slowly, the Marxist are setting themselves up to have more and more control over citizens. They already control MSM and much of the social media.
Musk exposed them with the Twitter files and loosened their censorship with Twitter, so the Marxist said, "fine, we'll just take over the entire internet".
Don't believe for a second this is about "helping the consumer".
Is there any recourse by the public to appeal or stop this?

As far as censorship, more government involvement means more sensitivity to the 1st amendment.

And ISP's will do what the government tells them.

How do I know that to be true?

I was the senior network engineer and Network Manager for a National ISP( that will remain nameless) from 1997 through 2001

Also worth noting that last year's Supreme Court EPA ruling will help this be fought in the courts. Beauracratic agencies can't bypass legislature.

I'm not saying they won't. I'm saying that we just haven't found a better solution yet.

Either we shrug and capitulate to the IoT transhumanist data mining cloud based future, or we fight and innovate to find new ways around these measures of censorship and control. We've already made great strides. Have faith

I too speak from a place of first hand trade knowledge currently with a national ISP.
