I'm making plans and talks that are not suitable for internet discussion or within the proximity of electronic recording devices, don't worry.

I've made my retirement plans around the fact I won't see a dime of SS.

Also why I don't contribute to Roth plans. I fully expect the government to start taxing Roth accounts on the back end eventually.

Land, brother. They don't make any more of it. Physical assets are worth more of their weight in gold in any scenario that disrupts the current financial system.

Oh already on that one.

Soon as we get the fiance's house renovated and sold, that money is going towards some property in North Carolina. Ideally at least 100 acres with some vineyards to keep the Fiance happy.

The southwestern tip, around the Nantahala, is an absolutely excellent climate for grape cultivation. Fairly cheap, too.

Ya, we're looking there....a bit further east around Saluda, NC, and in the Yadkin Valley.

The Saluda area is cheap now, but going up quick because of the International Equestrian Center in Tryon.

The idea that any place within the borders of a nation ruled over by the largest government the world has ever seen is a "libertarian paradise".

It seems like another case of a guy starting a thread based solely on a headline. . .without vetting the article itself.

sad at how typical that is. . .

Private interests could do all of the above. Likely better and more efficient.

Well, but the headline to the article I didn't read but decided to post anyway, like, totally debunks this, dude!
