Why SHOULDN'T the blame be on the Dems and 40% Reps who actually run the capitol along with the governor?
Democrats doing democrat things. Nobody is surprised by that or even gets mad at them.
The people we should be mad at is the republicans who helped democrats get their preferred toady installed as Speaker.

Here's the list of who voted for whom.

So it's interesting. I went and looked back at the vote on the Paula Davis compromise sales tax bill (the .45% thing):
LINK
Voting against the bill were a lot of staunch conservatives:
Miguez, Hodges, Henry, Seabaugh, etc. Mack also voted against it.
But so did Schexnayder. And so did Garafalo and Stephanski.
Schexnayder and several of his supporters got 80%+ ratings from LABI. So these aren't just a bunch of moderates.
So what was it that drove them to partner with JBE and the Democrats?
Chairmanships? Not enough to go around especially if you have to share with the democrats.
Personality? Is Mack just not as likeable as Schexnayder? Dunno.
The trial lawyer thing? Maybe
If they sold out, what particular 30 pieces of silver did they sell their vote for?

Power. Pure and simple. Word is that at the Caucus straw poll, Schexnayder was miffed at the lack of support he had. There were rumors then of a coup, exactly in the manner this occurred, because he got his feelings hurt.

He'll give a few away, but rest assured, the ones he gives away are the ones JBE demanded. Judiciary Committee about to be f*cked.

I hope that's not true. Hopefully that is just sour grapes from the losing side. I would like to hear a real reason from that camp. Only thing I hear was Rep. Bishop "we have to keep influence out" from the legislature. Which is, of course, garbage because now JBE is in charge.
IF they broke with the dems because of their "feelings": frick them sideways.

It's really just state politics in a nutshell. Without the speaker position, Schexnayder and his minority R crew were about to get left far behind in the lurch, and JBE would have been a lame-duck Governor. Schexnayder thought he would get early support for his group, and didn't. He then went searching for an ally, which he got.
It's a match made in heaven.

Damn it.
Now we have read in the Advocate about how all conservative bills died because a "bipartisan" group of legislators voted against them.
Four more years of that garbage.

Yes the fact that The Advocate and Stephanie Grace’s fatass are so happy about Schexnayder tells you even more. Great job RINO’s!

Well you called that.
According to a Sam Karlin tweet, here are the House committees expected to chaired by democrats:
quote:
Commerce
Labor
Judiciary
Local and Municipal
Transportation
Criminal Justice
None of these are particularly important committees unless you are trying to pass a major reform like tort reform.
However WHO will chair the money committees and House and Governmental (redistricting) is really more important than R vs D in this RINO house.

Might?
Going to liberal democrat JBE to beg him for democrat votes to make him speaker is a betrayal of the highest order and everyone who backed Clay should have a conservative challenger to make them justify this back stabbing.
If your party caucus doesn't support you for Speaker, sit the frick down and get behind the guy who does have that.
If you insist on causing more trouble, go sign up to be a democrat.
Fortunately, my state rep honored the voters wishes and voted for conservative control independent of JBE.
