I don't believe the same bullshite you believe.

I'm just wondering why "Christians" are so inconsistent.

Organized religion is the worst thing to happen for Christianity since they killed Jesus.

That’s an odd thing to say, since Jesus founded the church.

I kind of get where he is coming from. Earlier I mentioned returning to Church after a long time away. One of the first thing the Preacher said to me was that he wasn't here to give me a religion, he just wanted me to have a relationship with God.

It’s because people are inconsistent, and Christians are people

Are they more inconsistent than atheists, pagans, and woke communists?

Hardly.

So The Bible is more...suggestion, than word of "God."

Sounds good.

It didn't offend me at all, him saying that was what turned my life around and brought me back to Church. He just opened my eyes to the fact Church is not about a religion, it is about cultivating a relationship with Christ.

Sometimes.

Regardless, they come with the unfortunate attribute of believing they have absolute moral authority.

I'd buy that, if it weren't intentional.

Define "religious faith." Those who claim to be non-religious (or even atheist) are actually very religious. They just worship at different altars.

I know the SBC has had some notable problems of late and as far as Methodism, of which I be one, we are splintering and the only place Methodism is growing is through our missionary work in Africa. I believe I'm correct in that Europe is being over run by Muslims and most protestant denominations are in decline. I won't be here in 50 years but I pray to God that my granddaughter will be but I worry for her for so many different things from politics, money, religion, civility, college indoctrination, on and on.

Sorry, I misread your post.
It’s true, that one can have a relationship with God outside of church and we should, but there is also a place for attending services, being accountable to someone and praising God as part of a corporate body.
Plus, the Bible says that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
It’s good to hear preaching and teaching to help us grow.
With all that said, I do believe churches will continue to fall, real Christian persecution will come, and eventually, only small house churches, or dead state ran churches will exist.

It's largely a product of millennials being raised in pop-culture rock concert type churches that didn't really sink anything deep.

Even now church is merely a tool to meet and connect with people or find a spouse. The theological side is kind of secondary to the social yearning of the people in attendance.

Intentionally inconsistent?

Like BLM? Like the MSM? Like Joe Biden?

Like atheist who go to tarot card readers and mediums or like to harness the power of crystals?

Like supposed atheists everywhere who are evangelical in their opposition to religion?

Like those who claim there is no objective morality (materialists) who never act that way as they insist on the “right way” and the “wrong way” to live?
