The case for Haley 2020, and why GOP should consider

Take: Trump’s history with women did not make him vulnerable in 2016 because he ran against an opponent who couldn’t play that card against him because her husband is, by all means, far worse an offender than Trump. Virtually any Democrat who runs against him in 2020 will be able to play that card as much as he or she wants.
Another take: Republicans love owning the libs, and the only thing that would own the libs even more than making Trump President by way of defeating Her is to take a woman of color, who is by all means qualified to be President, and who has lectured us not to enjoy owning the libs, and make her President.
Another another take: No one with Asian blood has come close to the Presidency. A potential cascade of votes from that demographic would make the election a slam dunk.
Yet another take: Compared to Trump, there’s basically no dirt on Haley. Democrats would have to actually argue policy in the campaign. Republicans would benefit greatly from this.
No more takes after this one: She will be a better President than Trump.

Basically the OP just rehashed 2016 politics all over again and thinks it's going to defeat Trump in 2020 when he already beat them.

She is very well qualified. She would be a formidable candidate. The ethical mistake about the flights seems relatively minor, if that's all there is to it.
Asians are not a monolithic demographic. The different ethnic groups tend not to like the other ethnic groups very much, and Indians take it a step further and tend not to like each other. Jindal got essentially zero support from other Indians in his abortive presidential campaign. Haley may or may not fit into the same category as Jindal, but it's something to watch.

I tend to think it is an awful idea. The main impetus for her as a choice, as you've said, is that she is 'a woman of color'. By having that as a valid reason for selection, it validates the discourse and ideas of progressivism. No thanks.
