Charging costs aren't static at Tesla stations. Baton Rouge charges by minute, not by kWH

Well in not im that state. Thats the cost per kw

So how does it not cost that amount?
Im on the verge of buying on so please explain how im wrong

I wont have a home charger and my mechanic who tells me to only get a Model 3 says not too if i dont have a home charger

So how does that work on a cross country trip??

I just drove from Nashville to Baton Rouge on Saturday. Tesla's navigation routes the most efficient path and will try to reach charging stations at around 20% battery remaining (charges the quickest at 20% battery) and you typically charge for 15-20 minutes before going to the next station.

I had 4 charging stops. Added about 1.5 hours to my trip. Probably would've stopped and ate lunch anyways, so an extra 45 minutes to an hour over what I would've spent in an ICE

It's not by state, it's by charging station. Slidell charges by kWH, but even that cost is variable.

Why not slow charge overnight with a 110v charger? You'll at least get between 40-50 miles charge overnight that way

Tesla has this information here: LINK

Looks like the Model 3 gets 4mph charge on average using the 110v outlet.

I have a Model Y and a Model S. Haven't had any issues with charging that way

Any mechanical issues or is it all handled by Tesla?

With using a 110v outlet? No, you need to just plug it into a standard outlet with the proper Tesla converter. I believe they come with one if you purchase new. My Model Y was purchased new and came with one, my Model S was purchased used through Tesla and came with one as well.

With China and Afghanistan controlling like 90% of the mines do you think battery costs will get cheaper?

No. It places us at the mercy of China! AGAIN!

I will admit I want a Lightning LS-218. They cost about 50 grand too. Fastest production motorcycle ever built with top speed of 218 mph.

Sounds perfect so at least you will arrive at the scene of your death way before the ambulance.

So a few hundred in existence and another few hundred on the books.

Sure is convenient you make each charging station location the size of Rhode Island.

There are over 1,000 in America, and Tesla is adding 10,000 per year around the world right now, so it's not like this "issue" is going to continue to be present.

I don't ever go that fast. Rarely even get on the highway.

That being said, motorcycle riding is all about speed off the line. These are crazy quick.

You acting like this is normal for that trip is hilarious. And it’s certainly not scalable.

And as I stated correctly previously most are in California.

Your point is lame and redundant.

If you could just go pickup the EV of your choice at any dealership, that would be great. They're largely unavailable right now; so be willing to wait. Telling people to just go buy an EV right now is being ignorant of the supply situation.

You think stopping for 30-40 minutes over a 7 hour drive is rare?

It is scalable if Tesla continues to roll out stations like they have been
