BC/BS Large Group Texas

My company has 3500 employees, I bet they pay over 30-40 million dollars a year in premiums.

How exactly does that work, IYO?
Because I can tell you how it worked, in my experience.

So health insurance is the problem NOT healthcare. The finances are what’s screwed up.

at 3500 employees they're probably self insuring with BC/BS being the administrator but not the insurer and your employer has a lot to say about things like co-pays and deductibles.

i'm with united my primary co-pay is $20, specialist $30. i went to see my dermie who's like smoking hot, sorry no pictures and it was 30 bucks and the two steroid ointments she prescribed where $8 at kroger pharmacy both are generic.

when a company self insures they're not paying premiums they're paying actual claims and a fee to the administrator to process those claims.premiums are set based on last years actual claims.

Of course there is reason. You represent as having general info. Mine is anecdotal.

But I'm surprised you moved away from ""Universal"" care so quickly.
