Alabama's top election official estimates that turnout for the hotly contested U.S. Senate election now underway will likely be around 18 to 20 percent of registered voters.

Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill tells The Associated Press there's also a chance that turnout for the special election could be as high as 25 percent.

anyone besides me disgusted by the low turnout?

The winner will have 9% of the non-felon vote

If you don't care enough to go vote, I don't want you voting. I understand many people believe everyone should vote, but voting just for the sake of it doesn't promote the republic in my view.

Uhhhhhh...what? Those numbers are absolutely astronomical for a special election.

Patently false for Alabama.

If every person in Alabama were to Vote then Moore wins in a landslide

Low turnout is how republicans win elections all the time. Why would anyone here be disappointed?

That's just stupid and only true inside Montgomery, B'ham, and Mobile city limits. The vast majority outside those areas don't detest Moore at all. Some may be leary of him, but detest is hyperbole and ignorance brought about by stupidity and prejudice.
