From what I’ve read about her time at Fix California, she was not paid a salary but was paid a little more than $20k for fundraising commissions. Looks like this is more a case of her fluffing her resume with the “general counsel” title when she was just soliciting donations part time.
I agree that there are probably no grounds regarding practicing law without a license. The "holding oneself out as an attorney" probably won't be prosecuted either.
It's like watching a car wreck in slow motion with the White House refusing to address the situation. It's horrible PR to let this fester.

A competent administration would have shifted the entire narrative into feminist kryptonite. …This poor lady is just doing what’s necessary to get a job but society shuts out moms who want to work…

The report said she took the exam while preparing for her wedding and a move to China with her future husband.
guys, she was in the middle of planning a wedding. who could prep for the bar exam with that kind of pressure?
oh right. everyone who's ever taken a bar exam
clown. shoes.

It looks like she never passed a bar exam anywhere and worked briefly as a lawyer in China.
No wonder CalifornXia is miffed.

She is a trained attorney
If I go to monkey school, I'm still not a trained monkey, because at the end of the day I'm not a monkey.

I was reading about it earlier. It's a pilot program I guess. Something to do with "portfolio based and supervisory based" work to become licensed rather than sitting for the Bar. Which, honestly, would make all of this even funnier if the state tried to go after her for this, imo.

It's funny to watch media make that excuse. Why wouldn't Zacharia just say that?
This is the least communicationy Communications Office for which we have ever paid. Trump complains about his PR constantly. Why does this guy still have that job?

"Trained attorney" is a colloquial description of someone's educational background and is used regularly to describe someone who has graduated law school but is not licensed to practice law. To pretend otherwise is silly. Furthermore, this statement quoted above makes it sound as if there are attorneys running around out there who have NOT been trained.
At this point folks are arguing just to argue. They got the lady on trying to fluff up her LinkedIn page if they want to pursue it. Congratulations. You've finally done it!

Either way, that's not what she's being legally called out for. It's for calling herself "legal counsel" to an official business (and presumably providing legal counsel to said business, which will require further investigation by the bar).

This is the first instance I’ve ever seen or heard a person described as a “trained attorney.”
I think this shite is all basically much ado about nothing though.

Correct. She fluffed up her LinkedIn page. You will not find a website for Fix California that assigns her that title. You will not find it on any tax filings. You will not find that she even took a salary while working for Fix California. You will only find this on her LinkedIn page.
Like I said pages back, let's see them go after her for this stupid shite while simultaneously screaming about political persecution over the Ilhan Omar shite that Joe Biden's administration initiated.
This is not a game that Gavin Newsom will want to play unless he is even dumber than he appears to be.

It would be, but for the continued lying about it from Zacharia. Now, her story about the "WHEN I went to China" nonsensical answer is that she thought the question was "WHERE were you after law school." No objective person believes she is telling the truth.
She STILL hasn't answered why she claims to be an attorney who "practiced corporate law" if she hasn't passed a bar exam. Just admit you failed the California bar: NOT a big deal, and it has nothing to do with the responsibilities of Press Secretary. Credibility, however, is at the heart of Press Secretary responsibilities.
