I did LOL at that.
But, I wonder if they can be blocked from returning to the house (Abbot should) to maintain that they abandoned their seat and keep the court case going.
If he calls another special session and they leave...yall back at square 1.

Don't get caught up in the theater of it
democrats and Republicans cooperate behind the scenes on allowing each other and themselves to do the performance politics
so it serves the interest of getting re-elected. Look at how Texas redrew the maps last time around it wasn't about republicans or democrats it was about incumbents
After the 2020 redistricting and apportionment after the senses even Sheila Jackson Lee was given a very favorable district
The agreement they were looking for was about the new congressional maps per Trump's request
and there will be some things traded off on flood control, flood mitigation
the Hill Country and the SanJac watershed
probably education
a few others
it was all theater and negotiations and everybody wins as far as they're concerned
Abbott wont risk the win for more theater

So 40% of Texas will be represented by 5% of the elected officials.

What are your thoughts on Massachusetts? How about Vermont? How about Connecticut?
Posted on 8/12/25 at 8:51 pm to Major Dutch Schaefer
Abbott did an interview earlier today saying that they were only doing 5 districts, but had room for way more, when asked what he thought of new scum gaining 7ish more.

What are your thoughts on Massachusetts?
The republicans are spread more evenly in mass. The Dems are concentrated in Tex.

securing long-term gains. Turning d dist into secure R dist.
5 ..6 maybe in Texas is a good get now. Maybe more in Mizzou
but 8 years of Vance with the appointment power
We can lock this down for the next 18 years easy if its done in steps
thats truly generational
