Texas Democrats plot path to Flipping State in 2020

The Texas Democratic Party is pulling back the curtain on its 2020 strategy ahead of the Houston presidential debate, releasing a plan to flip the state that targets 2.6 million potential Democratic voters who are not registered yet and commits to deploying over 1,000 organizers by the end of the election cycle.
The 10-page proposal, shared first with The Texas Tribune, primarily focuses on dramatically expanding the Democratic vote in Texas while building a massive coordinated campaign. Both are ambitious undertakings for a party that has long been out of power — no Democrat has won statewide since 1994 — but has seen its prospects brighten over the last two election cycles, especially in 2018.
"At the Texas Democratic Party, we know that to win we must build a state party infrastructure larger than anyone has ever seen," the party's deputy executive director, Cliff Walker, says in a statement accompanying the plan. "Change is coming to Texas — a new wave of activists and progressive candidates demand it."
The party is set to unveil the plan Monday as national attention begins to hone in on Texas ahead of the debate Thursday in Houston, the third of the 2020 Democratic primary. Party officials have hailed the debate's location as the latest evidence of their 2020 mantra — that Texas has become the "biggest battleground state in the country."

Why is it the democrats think again... they will flip Texas? If you go into their not so secret plan in the OP it sounds like they will be hoping to be registering a lot of illegals?

Yea that’s not fishy at all.

Reading their plan I am presuming: They are counting on all the people from Ca. that left Ca. because of Dem crappy policies and failures? How stupid are dems to vote for more failure they left a state for?
This could account for some lefty dem votes; but where are they getting 2.6 million potential Democratic voters?

Sadly based on the demographics it's only a matter of time. That is one reason I am cherishing these 8 years of Trump. Once Texas turns we'll never win again.

And aren’t quite citizens of the USA yet either

How do they know they are potential Democrats? Oh yeah, they are going to register them and have them fill out ballots at the same time...
Very fishy

Personally, I think Texas is at least ten years from electing a Dem to statewide office. More, if the GOP is willing to adjust to the demographic changes in the state.

Is this a serious question? That's EXACTLY what they will do. They are very much like locusts. Devour, move, devour again, move again...

We know Hero Liberal Hank will be doing his best to help flip the state

I hope they spend tons of money trying to flip Texas.

This, my friends, is collusion.

Why is it the democrats think again... they will flip Texas?
Not to mention the Dems moving out of Cali and bringing the same failed political ideology with them

What does that mean?

I can't wait for normal people to pull there money out of the bank and leave. Leaving the Democrats nobody to tax and torment. Without the working class Republicans the Democrats will starve to death. Liberals not very bright.

When did Houston and San Antonio go so far left?
Did this seal the deal?
Seriously, when did certain TX cities go politically correct left?

The State of Texas recently did an exhaustive study and found that a few thousand non-citizens (some of whom were legal resident) MAY have voted over a period of some twenty years. It worked-out to less than a tenth of a percent of the vote, assuming that all of them DID actually vote. It is statistically insignificant.
The REAL demographic changes (problems, for the GOP) are several.
First, we DO have lots of illegals, and we have had them for a generation or more. No, they are not voting, but their Texas-born KIDS are voting as they reach the age of majority ... and most of them lean Dem.
Second, Blacks and Latino form the Dem base in Texas, and the simple fact is that they have more kids per family than the White GOP base. Over a generation or two, that makes a difference in the voting base.
Third, move-ins. Katrina refugees are one example. Louisianans of all political stripes came here after the storm, but it seems that the upper demographics eventually went home, some pretty quickly. The lower demographics stayed, and we cannot get them to return to the shithole they fled.
The hi-tech immigration is another example. Companies move here for the business climate, and they bring their existing employees ... a group that skews liberal.
To win elections a decade from now, the GOP simply MUST find a way to appeal to some of these voters.

And in the not too distant future, the business climate they left for will start to look exactly like the business climate they left, unless reasonably reasonable people like yourself turn out to vote... and vote the right way.

Not just TX, but AZ, GA, FL, and NC are in danger of being permanently blue in 2024-. Not even a permanent red shift of MI/WI/PA/MN could offset that. Let's just hope we have the Supreme Court set for several decades to wither the storm!
