His stupid order is why this patriot is having a problem in the first place.

Rick Perry was better.

Meanwhile she's $328,641 richer, and her GoFundMe is still climbing.
She should send the judge a flower.

She was not convicted.

She was jailed for violating a court restraining order.

Contempt of court.

Then why didn't the judge just simply jail her? Instead there was a big show where he told her to admit guilt and beg him for forgiveness or go to jail.

Often in cases where a person is violating a court order there is a hearing whereupon the person is offered a chance to comply before being taken to jail. The person may or may not have already been arrested.

He cannot pardon a person for violating his own order.

He would have to lift the order.

Good.

She should stay in jail, keep raising that money, then walk out a civil right hero.

The county judge’s order mirrored that if the governor. The governor shut down hair salons.

This woman has been jailed for contempt of court in relation to a temporary restraining order.

But if she apologized to him she walks??

How common is a 7k fine and jail time for a non violent first offenders "contempt" of court?

$500 for each criminal and civil violation ($1000) multiplied by the number of instances (days) violated.

She knew she would be facing these fines. She tore up the cease and desist letter. She made the choice.

The law is on the judge’s side.

The Republicans have been very active with lawsuits during this. The Harris County (Houston) lawsuits (the one against masks lost) were backed by a Republican operative, Stephen Hotze.

A recorded message from Hotze hit my landline last night urging me to take part in a phone forum. Edit: I went back through my caller ID and Hotze’s call was marked “political call.”

The reason I bring this up is that some motivations are based on the law, others are based on politics. You decide.

But...if you apologize to the racist judge it's all good?

This woman is the new Rosa Parks.
We shall overcome!

That's what I don't understand!

On the otherhand, she shouldn't have to pay any fees either! This whole lockdown issue should never have been enforced from the beginning!

Why have you consistently been bringing race into this subject? Are you trying to turn the tables? It’s a little overdone.

Thats nice.
Its a question of selectivity.
So if someone were to file through this judges rulings they would fine similar punishments...7k and jail time..for all or most other cases of first offenders "contempt of court" charges with dropping any jail time if they apologized to him?

If not, what could the differences be attributed to??

The reason I bring this up is that some motivations are based on the law, others are based on politics. You decide.

So if he drives 1 MPH over the speed limit on the way home he needs to be pulled over and cited.

It's the law!
