I haven't seen anybody say "thousands were mowed down". Apparently there was a significant number of people trapped inside by the fire but I don't know if that's accurate or not.

I'm not sure what is so difficult for you to believe here. Some retard posted the 6000 thing like a moron, nobody else said that. There were at least 8-10 dead people in the front of the building, 20ish killed in the lobby, 15ish killed in the music hall, and now they've already found 15 dead from smoke inhalation. Death toll is currently at 62 and 150 injured, more expected upstairs.
Fire
Shooters entered the music hall and people at the top ran up the stairs. Shooters started a fire in the music hall and people became trapped.
