Teacher berates pupil for questioning classmate's claim that she 'identifies as a CAT'

Happened at a Church of England school (Rye College) in East Sussex.

I recognize some people consider the DM to be more of a tabloid than a proper news source. I went with their link, since it provides a recording of the exchange between the teacher and the student; but multiple other news sources are running the story as well.

The whole gender thing is a societal test. If you can get everyone to believe something that is blatantly and obviously untrue, you can get them to believe anything.

I'm not sure we're not already there. Climate change, unarmed black men murdered by cops by the hundreds, and it wasn't some small fringe group that believed Covid was something it obviously was not. The gender/species thing is just the touchdown dance.

Sorry teach, that’s factually inaccurate. You don’t get to choose your gender any more than you get to choose your species.
