we're the only country in the top 10 of total manufacturing and per capita value of our manufacturing output (which is quite the feat).

Yet couldn’t supply our country during the China Virus for many critical segments.

The only reason China is #1

Is because our own government sold us out and spent billions building the Chinese manufacturing sector for them. Chin’s manufacturing prowess is a result of US intervention. It doesn’t happen with US tax dollars.

That’s not the point of the OP. Point is WHAT we are capable of manufacturing, not how much.

China has outpaced our GDP growth over the last 20 years by 500%

Need help with that math and reasoning?

Think they can sustain that? Because endless growth at that rate isn't sustainable. Especially with their obscene debt and population problems. China's cookie was pretty much crumbled without the need for a trade war. Although I really don't have a problem with a trade war with them.

But places like Canada, Mexico, Switzerland? That's where the wtf is coming from. You probably knew that but chose to act stupid instead.

Tariffs are useless if they are unfair......they have been used as a world tax on USA goods because we have been so successful. Would love to see the tariffs on other countries and their trading partners.

Yeah that doesn't require tariffs to address.

This seems obvious.

Agree, reciprocal tariffs will open up the doors for better deals for the USA.

Did we not react to that proactively?

How does putting a tariff on friendly nations help accomplish bridging the gap?

I don’t know. Probably not. But some of that growth over here wouldn’t have hurt.

I can think of a few reasons why he would do it the way he did and this board is a perfect example. People are outraged by how America has been unfairly treated across the globe. Pretty obvious to me. Sorry it went over your head.

We aren't using reciprocal tariffs as promised. We're using something I could plug into an excel sheet and shite out in 30 seconds.

If people are outraged at how Canada has treated us it's because they're mentally retarded.

Correct. It would be like Biden's CHIPS subsidies.

So we want more Biden-esque policies, not Trump tariffs

You'd think that'd be doing better than us right now.

How are friendly nations putting tariff on American goods bridging the gap for America?

Short list for you sense you seem to enjoy being bent over by other countries.

Medicines
Military equipment
Chips
Just about anything LED/electronic driven.

The good ole USA can’t even make our own naval ships anymore.

The US turned China from a poorer version of India into our arch rival in a 30 year window. Its genuinely impressive how we sold our souls to the devil so that boomers could cheer their 401ks up a few percentage points, and people could buy more bullshite products they use once if ever

And what’s worse is we still have Americans cheering on for more. Just read this thread and you’ll see it.

They dont care about America. They care about their own wallet and globalist ideology. The "lincoln project" RINOs still dont understand the GOP is forever a nationalist party now. Trump converted the masses.

Its just gross. One of the best parts of being well off enough to not worry about the roof over your head or food on the table is you can make the decision to support what is best for your faith, nation and family. Too many people would be happy to sell the soul of this nation to live a little better now than give their children, grandchildren, and descendents a good life.

Define globalist ideology

You used the term. Define it.

Can best be summed through John Lennon's "Imagine"

quote:

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world, you
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Godless, communist, only caring about yourself and not your descendents.

The globalist agenda wants "rules based international order" where the US spills the blood, pays the treasure, and Europe gets to ride along as a "partner"

Those days are over. My family has shed enough blood for Europeans and "rules based international order" going back to WW1, enough. They are rich enough and have enough of their own people where they can put their big boy pants on and defend themselves. If they dont want too, they deserve to be subjugated
