The fact that you put no weight on the CONTEXT kind of says it all. His office zealously prosecuted-there was a hung jury-the victim's attorney then said that the victim would not testify in a second trial and so Paxton, knowing he would never receive a conviction, reluctantly chose not to bring him to trial again. Same as 1000 other cases a year in every jurisdiction in America where a prosecutor knows a conviction is impossible. How that makes him a pedo or sympathetic to pedophilia is lunacy. Especially when contrasted against the incredible creepiness of his opponent literally celebrating little boys dressing up as girls and entertaining adults.

I know the argument. It's not compelling. Particularly when I factor in the last 15 years of his act. He's not even Conservative. He's a scumbag, and borderline criminal. He's a populist lapdog, which is why he received the endorsement in the first place. His supposed "Conservatism" is not enough to sway a vote from me.
