100% truth. Sources were from memory to check your reading background. I could do it today easily. It works like this:
Subject: The poor
90% of the poor have a TV and 60% have two.
80% of the poor have a car and 30% have two.
90% of the poor have A.C.

Then you were critiquing the content, not the logic and writing style. As someone with a background in symbolic logic, citing to a source when critiquing someone’s logical structure makes about as much sense as citing to a math textbook when critiquing someone’s geometry proof

No, I was critiquing the logic and the writing style. The reason you have a hard time understanding this is because you can't do it.
I could do it at age 18 for 2 basic reasons.
1. I had 3 years worth of varsity debate files committed to memory after going through the HS debate wars which in the 60s was brutal.
2. I read the encyclopedia (the whole thing) at age 12. The advantage of not having TV or radio growing up.
Looking back to those times I realize how much slower my brain works now. I still read a lot every day but I don't retain as much and cannot process information as fast as back then.
In those days I could construct 10 refutations to a single point instantly in a round even if I had none of them in my file. Today I have to take at least 30 seconds to determine whether this putt is gonna break left or not.
I could do it at age 18 for 2 basic reasons.

The comments are gold. The vast majority are thanking Vets for their service, a few are taking Yahoo to task for posting a useless story on Memorial Day and a few are in support of Ivanka.
I have a feeling that's probably a good cross-section of how much of the country feels about the story.
