SYRIAN state television has reported the leader of Islamic State Abu Bakr al-Baghadi has been killed in an air strike.

Claims suggest the world’s most wanted terrorist was blasted with heavy artillery while in the ISIS stronghold of Raqqa.

It is possible the terror chief was ‘killed’ by white phosphorus bombing campaigns lead by Coalition forces in the IS-infested region throughout last week.

Dramatic footage has emerged showing the scorching munitions showering down on to the city and setting buildings ablaze.

According to the British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, 13 civilians have been killed in coalition are raids in Raqqa over the past 24 hours.

Footage of coalition strikes shows burning white phosphorus raining down onto buildings in Raqqa last week

I expect college students to be celebrating in front of the WH with their American flags and pro-USA signs any minute now.

Doubtful. As we all know with these terrorist organizations, you're cutting off the head of a snake for it to just grow another one.

Yes and no. There are plenty of radicalized muzzies just chomping at the bit to take over the jihadist spot and die for a "worthy cause" of spreading a religion of hatred and violence. If anything, we can hope that it will lead to alot of dissension in the ranks and they start killing each other off.

We should tell them all munitions were dropped/fired by females.

Muslims believe they go to hell if killed in battle by females.

why would civilians wanna live in the capital of ISI/ unless they were sympathetic to the cause? That's like saying innocents Germans were killed at Dresden....war is hell and we are at war.

Was it an air strike or an artillery strike? Maybe it was just bad jargon.

As always it is not the attack itself that is so important. Acquiring the target is much more difficult.

Maybe because they have a gun pointed to their heads because they're being told "be my bitch and my slave or meet your maker"?

Serious question:

Doesn't ISIS simply name whomever is their leader "el-baghdadi?"

Because IS often slaughters civilians for attempting to leave contested areas. Civilians provide some protection from bombing campaigns and their deaths are propaganda material.

Innocents were killed by the tens of thousands at Dresden. "war is hell" doesn't change that. People who use that phrase to justify slaughtering innocent people usually have the maturity level of a middle school boy. ISIL has also used that phrase many times.

White phospherous can not be used for outright bombing; illegal under the Geneva Convention. Article loses some credibility on that point.

You can use WP to "mark" targets, most certainly, but you cannot specifically use it for bombing outright.
