Your feeling being hurt don't require the powers that be shitting on the 1st Amendment and the 8th Amendment, to the detriment of the person who hurt your fee fees.

I did not see any financial penalties, much less outrageous ones, applied to them.

I'm not going to necessarily defend the amount of the judgement, but I cannot find a single frick to give for Jones considering the pain he helped cause those families in a time of unimaginable grief.

What can be visited upon one of us, can be visited upon any one of us.

You may say, "Well, don't be a heinous dick"...

...but don't forget that vocally opposing lady dicks in the girl's room is "literally trans genocide". Are we winning that culture war in the moment? Yes... will we still if progressives regain any power or authority? No.

The fines/penalties should increase based on your wealth. Otherwise, wealthy people will commit crimes with impunity. He spent years defaming grieving parents, and spreading his lies all over the world. He wielded his influence over his brainrotted viewers to harass these poor people. All the while he raked in millions. Anyone acting so recklessly with malice intent to line their own pockets, at the expense of grieving parents of murdered children, should absolutely face career ending penalties.

He can still speak. As far as excessive fines.....thats a matter of opinion. And all of you saying those parents just had their feelings hurt....lose your child in the most traumatic way possible and then have your wife and family threatened by loons b/c some jack arse said you were part of hoax, I would expect any man to do more than just suck it up.

What Alex did was objectively wrong.

But... he did not kill those children, nor did he force the loons to act against the family members.

Keep in mind, as awful as the things he said may have been, he has NOT been charged with a crime. Just sued.

I dont consider the judgment against Jones as a loss against the looney side of the left. Prior to 2012 I used to listen to Jones occasionally, especially back when he was on the great Art Bell show. It was mostly just entertaining eye rolling late night talk. Fast forward a few years and Jones brand of lunacy began to go mainstream and I consider that to be just as much a threat to civilized society as the craziness on the left.

I didn't follow the story much at all. But the little bit I remember was that this was more than just a guy talking on the radio or doing a podcast. This was targeting certain people - I assume many of them parents of victims - calling them liars and actors and shite.
I don't feel sorry at all for dude - unless i am misremembering the event.

I get that and respect your position.....perhaps my empathy for the parents blinds me to that position in this case. Im willing to accept that flaw in my opinion.

They should have charged him with a crime and pulled him off air.

The judges in these two cases feel the same way you do... and that is why they went excessive on him- despite the fact he was NEVER charged with a crime nor convicted of a crime in the Sandy Hook Hoax Debacle.

For AJ to be punished by over a billion dollars considering he never committed a crime... that should give anyone pause, regardless of how one personally feels about AJ.

That is exactly what happened...called the parents grieving on television "crisis actors" and questioned their demeanor when speaking to the press.

It was a default judgment after AJ refused to engage in discovery or the litigation process in general. Only after the default was entered did he start his woe is me tour.

I've really not looked into it in a couple of years... I do recall it was a default judgement. It still seems rather excessive.

What I think I know is.. there were two cases, the juries in both cases awarded a certain amount- steep. Then, both judges added on to those amounts excessively.

It's the excessive part that bothers me- by the judges.

So no equal application of the law? You won’t like how that ends.
