Businesses closing and retirement accounts being shattered.

Don’t think for a second that those in a bad spot don’t exercise that 2 yr suicide provision in their life insurance policies.

This needs to end yesterday

quote:

President Donald Trump said Tuesday that there will be "suicides by the thousands" if entire sectors of the US economy remain shut down in an effort to contain the spread of the coronavirus threatening to overwhelm hospitals. "We have to put the country to work," he said on Fox News. "You are going to lose a number of people to the flu, but you are going to lose more people by putting the country in a massive recession or depression."

What a dumb thing to say when that's the largest generation in the workforce entering their prime earning years.

Those who have never experienced a parent denying them a new toy or piece of candy, nor coming in elsewhere than at the front of the race and not receiving a participation trophy, find it difficult to understand any form of adversity as they have never been exposed to it. Their mental strength has never truly been tested as can be seen in a lot of the posts on social media. They are social butterflies that never had to go through the worm and cocoon stages and incapable of handling stress.

This is a war.

Casualties are part of winning.

We need to open up recognizing that there will be loss of life.

There is no way around this, the only way out is through it.

Recommend that those 65+ stay isolated and let the American people go.

We will do just fine. We always have.

Based on history and current state of stock market, I'm surprised this hasn't already started to happen.

I'm 72 and healthy. FWIW I agree with this BUT will add that people with preexisting conditions should be quarantined too.

So basically it would be if a person isn't healthy enough to go to work or retired they should stay dafuk home.

That's an excellent description of boomers overall.

That’s a gross mischaracterization.

I suffer from mental illness—four very specific and chronic diagnoses.
I was born with these conditions, not unlike someone who is born with nearsightedness or a cardiac malfunction.

I fight my battles daily (hourly) and currently have monthly phone appointments with my psychiatrist, since the quarantine was issued.

With all due respect, I didn’t ask for my illnesses.
You know nothing about my (amazing) parents, my childhood, nor my ability to handle stress.

Blessings to you and yours.
