I'm messing with ya.

But for real....they wanted higher wages. Let's see if we get better performance. I don't really eat fast food, but I do like Popeyes on occasion. They never ever get it right.

Do you know where I can find the study itself?

I mean, it flat out admits it's unscientific, so it's a little hard to take this as "proof" that the minimum wage doesn't hurt job growth. Yet it seems that plenty on the left in this thread accept it out of hand and plenty on the right in this thread reject it out of hand without even looking at how the study was conducted.

I found it.

This isn't a study at all. It's just comparing rates of growth in states that raised the minimum wage to states that didn't. It is entirely correlational and involves no scientific analysis. To call this a "study" at all is highly misleading and bordering on preposterous.

TUba, you are a smart, scientifically oriented person. If you were running a study analyzing the effects of min. wage on the economy of a state, which approach makes more sense:

A) comparing the state's economy with a state in which MW did not rise,

or

B) comparing the growth of a state before MW went into effect, and after it went into effect.

This is the proper area to start in, and then after compiling years worth of data, you then move to comparing the outcomes between the two subsets, those who increased MW and those who didn't.

Coastie, this begging is unseemly.

I heart the hell out of Vols&Shaft. But, c'mon. It really isn't that difficult to NOT get banned.

He will be back after his "time out". but, he obviously needed one

The study did no such thing. It literally just compared growth rates of states at one time.

TT rex tuba and VB all know this but they seem to just have given up the ghost because they fight back at the idiots around here and loose all...I can't find the word.
Debate is dead around here for the most part. It gets polluted by drive-by BS.
I would take a thousand more awants than one of those guys.

It compounds its issues by averaging the legislatively changed MW states with the inflation-adjusted MW states.
