Not really..and yes, I love science, especially quantum mechanics. There are many scientists that disagree with his theories. He was just a very popular, main stream scientist.

Not a whole lot of fruit bearing for the amount of effort and money spent in this field. What exactly have we accomplished in quantum mechanics? We built a collider and smashed some stuff. We think there's dark and anti matter but don't know for sure?
And whatever happened to nanotech? Never hear anything out of this field. I thought nanatech was going to be the next big advancement in science and medicine.

I'm trying to figure out if that was a slur of high praise.

Soooo stupid.
Come on man...you don't listen to DiCapprio when he talks global warming?

No, it was a response to the fact someone said one of his biggest accomplishments was being on the tv show Big Bang theory.

Bush is a criminal and a deep state swamp monster. He sent a whole bunch of American sons and daughters off to fight a bullshite war for rich people. He's a liar. He is a fraud. He is a fake American. He is no different than Hillary Clinton and should be in jail.

I rest my case that most of you haven’t the smallest clue of what physics can do for us.
Nothing of late that benefited society really. I think that was his point.
Now technology has affected our day to day lives dramatically, but not physics. That was his point.
What was the last big physics breakthrough that actually affected daily life?
I'm asking cuz I don't actually know. I can't think of anything. And don't say Tesla.

I’m not an expert, but I do know smart phones, lasers, telecommunications, MRI machines, atomic clocks, GPS, etc all came to us on the shoulders of past physicists. People in the future will be better off because of the advances we make using the work of people like hawking. It’s undeniable. So saying he contributed nothing to the world is extremely predictable line of thought and extremely false.
This is not what theoretical physicists do. I don't lump the technology of phones and MRIs as things someone like Stephen Hawkin did.
I may be way off base there though.

wmds were the excuse to sell the war politically
The truth is that under the terms of the ceasefire from gulf war 1 the us had every legal right to go in to Iraq an oust saddam
He continually violated the terms of the ceasefire
If we had people of high character holding office then we could just stand up and do what is right and say damn to the politics

W is a patriot and a great American. He served his country honorably, and he's a shining example of humanity. He's genuine and affable, and you could certainly benefit from emulating his behavior.

A lot of people just aren’t curious. When I moved to Japan some girl I knew asked me ( while standing next to my Vietnamese gf - now Mrs Pimp) if the Japanese and Vietnamese spoke the same language. I said “ as far as you know” . Which is a phrase my kids have come to know very well.
The corollary to this is the guy that thinks he’s an expert on everything. Stay in your lane people. That includes Hawking. Stay in your lane, genius.
Lack of intellectual curiosity is not a sin imho. The sin is when you combine your lack of curiosity by regaling those around you with your opinions of things you know nothing about . We all know that guy ( not naming names).

But, since Bush had an (R) by his name instead of a (D) people on here won't agree with this. Bush is a POS. So it is invalid Diddy.

Why does the fruits of science have to be within a few years of the discoveries? I’m sure one of your ancestors was watching newton at Work asking OKAY SO A RAINBOW CAME OUT OF THAT BIG DEAL WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO BENEFIT ME!?
I’m sure next time you need a body scan you’ll be using that MRI machine that you didn’t realize came from quantum mechanics.
Or new laser technology.
